A member of the El Paso Police Department for almost twenty-three years, Detective Zimmerly has served for six years in the Crimes Against Persons (Homicide) Section, three years as a Detective in the ALPHA Section assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administrator and nearly ten years assigned to the Crimes Against Children Section.

An attorney with the El Paso County District Attorney's Office since 1995, Ms. Hamilton has served as a misdemeanor trial attorney and a felony trial attorney, Chief of the Rape and Child Abuse Unit. Hamilton has screened and processed more than 10,000 child abuse cases. Her trial experience includes more than 90 criminal trials from misdemeanor offenses to capital murder.
