It is the goal of all local children's advocacy centers to reduce the trauma to child abuse victims once they come forward to speak about their victimization.

OUR MISSION

The mission of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Hidalgo County (CACHC), Inc. is to provide a child-focused setting and facilitate a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) approach, which supports hope, healing and justice to child victims of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse.

GOALS

  • The CACHC will strive to reach every child within the CACHC case acceptance criteria.

  • The CACHC will strive to provide every service a child needs and recommend services identified through a need’s assessment.

  • The CACHC will strive to make every effort to ensure all Core CACHC services are provided to children and their protective family members.

HOW WE HELP

Our number one goal is to provide children with a safe environment in which a multidisciplinary approach is taken to coordinate all departments involved in the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases. The needs of each child are as varied as the details surrounding each investigation. Because of this, the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas (CACTX) has implemented a successful model of procedure that coordinates law enforcement and child protective services efforts and in turn utilizes services offered at the advocacy center. The graphic illustrates the process of each case from investigation to prosecution to intervention.

Dr. Danielle Fox with a thought

Hear from the Families we serve.

"The Children's Advocacy Center gives off a soothing atmosphere where you can feel the calm."

"Thank you for making our daughter feel safe."

"I appreciate the staff's friendliness and making me and my daughter feel very comfortable during this difficult time."

Since the center opened in 2000, we have served over 16,000 who have experienced Child Abuse.

Child abuse and neglect are not an isolated occurrence. It happens every single day in our community, it may even be happening to a child you know. We believe no child should ever be subjected to the pain of abuse or the lasting emotional trauma it leaves behind.
